Traffic cylinders have been in regular use on British roads for at least 35 years, significantly contributing to the safer guidance for motorists, through and past temporary incidents or works sites on the street. It is estimated that about 2m traffic cones and cylinders are used on UK roads each year. This level of usage emphasises the importance and value these products contribute to road safety.
Our supplied cylinders are perfect for managing the direction of traffic, manufactured from tough and durable, weather-resistant materials, and require little to no maintenance. Bases, adhesive pads and fixing bolts for cylinders are also present in this category. Each base will require 3 either asphalt or concrete fixing bolt (depending on which particular surface you are fixing them).
Cylinders twist and lock into cats-eye sockets in a cylinder base (not included but can be bought separately). They also contain a high memory EVA co-polymer for extra impact resistance and rapid recovery, and come complete with a Starlux reflective D2 sleeve.
We have 750mm and 1m traffic cylinders available, from companies that have manufactured road safety equipment for many years and built up reputations for providing high-quality safety products, such as Kingpin and Swingbac.
Traffic cylinders we supply are tested and certified according to the definitions, categories and classes of BS EN 13422:2004. This means all of our cylinders:
• are completely retro-reflective (except for the base plate).
• have passed performance requirements in wet testing conditions.
• have a low temperature impact.
• are resistant to bending and fatigue.
• have been drop tested for testing security of cylinder bases.
• have been tested for adhesion and continuity of retro-reflective surfaces.
